If a dog were your teacher, you would learn stuff like:
Always be a friend.
Find the fun in everything that you do.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
A ride in the car and with the wind in your face can be more than just getting
to your destination.
Explore new or little known areas.
Let others know when they've invaded your space.
Take a rest breaks now and then.
Stretch every once and a while.
Enjoy the time and attention of others.
On warm days, stop to stretch out and enjoy summer sun.
On cold days, find a cozy spot to nestle into.
The point of chasing butterflies or grasshoppers isn't to catch them.
When you're happy, make sure everyone knows it.
When you're upset, give a warning before getting more aggressive.
If somebody gets on your case, don't buy into the guilt for more than a
few seconds.
Delight in the simple joy of a walk and the smell of outdoors.
Having the most bones wont always make you the most fun to be with.
Leave yourself little treasures in obscure places, that you can later "rediscover"
over and over again.
Sometimes a little scratch or pat means a lot.
And MOST of all...
When someone needs you, sit close, be silent and nuzzle them gently.
